Restores
There are times our customers will call in requesting we restore their site to an older version. There could be multiple reasons for this: A revision or ticket was done incorrectly; the customer made changes themselves that created errors in the process; A plugin update created unwanted issues, etc. It is important that we give them the most informed and detailed information about backing up and/or restoring their site before we take any action.
Website Backups
Website backups are crucial to website management and maintenance. They are essential for protecting website data and ensuring that websites are always available to users, even in the event of a disaster. Backups involve making copies of website data, including files, databases, and configurations, and storing them in a safe location.

GoDaddy’s Managed WordPress Hosting keeps 30 days’ worth of backups for our customers automatically. These backups are enabled by default and contain both the website files and database.

Hosting Restores
A hosting restore is only used when a customer’s hosting gets removed from their account. This generally happens when the customer has failed billing, but can also happen if the hosting was accidentally removed. These restores should be performed by the retention team and do incur a fee of $150. Make sure to warm transfer the customer to explain what happened to the next guide.
Site Restores
Site Restores involve using backups to recover lost or damaged website data on an existing Managed WordPress hosting platform. When performing a restore of a site, the saved files from the backup are used to replace the current site files.
It’s very important to note that restoring a website will permanently overwrite your current website. Any version of your site that isn’t backed-up may be lost, and this action cannot be undone.
Why to Avoid Restoring a WooCommerce
Due to the fact that a restore will permanently override the site data, if your customer’s site is live and there have been orders processed or taxes, shipping, and payment gateway information added since the last backup, this data will be erased and cannot be recovered. This is why we should never be performing restores on WooCommerce sites.
Page Restore
The page restore method is the easiest and least risky of the options. If only one or two pages have missing content or errors, you can preview and restore previously published versions of the individual pages in Beaver Builder.

Complementary ticket for a site restore
In the very rare scenario that a system issue has occurred caused by GoDaddy, we can do a complementary ticket to complete a site restore for the customer. These tickets should be reserved strictly for file or data base corruption. Please review the confluence guide linked here and consult with your TM before submitting these requests.
