WordPress by default allows for enabling a password protected page. Whether you want to create a new page or adjust an existing page, the process is the same.
- Go to the WordPress dashboard
- Click on Pages
- Click the Quick Edit link for the page you would like to adjust
- Enter a Password in the Password field
- Click the Update button

You can also find this information on the Edit Page screen.
- Click on the Edit link or the page title from the Pages screen
- On the right side bar there will be a section for “Status & Visibility”
- If the page is not currently protected it will say “Public” next to Visibility, otherwise it will say “Password Protected”
- Click directly on “Public” and choose “Password Protected” and enter the desired Password in the field
- If it is already “Password Protected” you can click on this link to view or update the existing password
- Click Update at the top to save any changes
