PHP

PHP is the coding language WordPress is built on, and its version is set at the server-level. It is important to keep your PHP up to date to ensure your site is secure.

You will update the PHP within the settings section of the Managed WordPress hosting, the same spot you would go to attach a domain to it.

In the settings under PHP Version, click on the blue “Change” link

Typically, you want this to be on the latest recommended version possible. Once you change the settings the Managed WordPress server will take ~10 minutes to update (the server has to finish all it’s currently active PHP processes before it will update).

It is best to update the version one by one, as you would with updating plugins. Check the site to make sure it remains in working order as you update.
